King Of Winter

Beyond the summer's warmth,
After November's winds fall still.
A satin sheet will cloak the land,
Leaving Earth dormant 'neath it's chill.

In the silence stalks new royalty,
Behind the whispers that remain.
Fevered stealth on four strong legs,
As a silver king holds reign.

Icy threads fall from the sky,
Leaving a patchwork quilt below.
Fashioning royal garments,
Within a kingdom built of snow.
