Heaven Sent

Tonight God perceived a vacant sky,
Piercing few stars within His night.
A navy flag of honor spun,
To gratify the Lord's delight.
An evening of enchanted need,
He desired one thing more.
His hand reached out and gripped the eve,
Opening love's closed door.
A flare alit the ebony dome,
And unanswered prayers were heard.
No longer would darkness overcome,
As He sent a precious word.
The spoken heart would overwhelm,
Listening close to what God meant.
He whispered a name, and a child was born.
Forever heaven sent.
